The Grove City Action Plan to Promote Mental Health & Prevent Substance Use Disorders
Grove City passed CR-01-20 (PDF) to form a committee to collaboratively create an action plan addressing the mental health inequities and substance use disorder crisis in our community.
The Committee Vision and Mission are:
To promote a healthy community and provide support to foster the highest quality care and enhance the well-being of all.
To positively impact the culture, attitudes, and practices around mental health and substance use disorders and reduce individual and societal harms by investing in collaboration, education, prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and support; creating a society in which people who need help feel comfortable seeking it and celebrated for their efforts.
The Grove City Action Plan to Promote Mental Health and Prevent Substance Use Disorders was presented by the Committee and CR-38-22 (PDF) accepting the plan was passed in July 2022.
The Plan links Grove City efforts with county and state-level initiatives, focused on breaking down the stigma of mental illness and substance use disorders, increasing resource visibility, and supporting recovery.
Intentionally designed as a flexible plan, subcommittees were formed to establish and carry out focused tasks within each priority area aimed to meet identified goals. The public document outlines identified initiatives.
