Mayor’s Court

Grove City's Mayor's Court hears all misdemeanor offenses that occur within Grove City.

Exceptions include: second offense driving under the influence (OVI), second offense driving under suspension (DWLUS) and domestic violence (DV) cases.

  • Mayor-appointed magistrate administers Mayor's Court.

When: Cases are heard on Wednesdays and scheduled by category.

  • 9 am: Failure to comply with previous court orders
  • 10 am: Criminal cases and minor traffic arraignments
  • 11 am: Cases requiring interpreters
  • 1 pm: Pre-trial cases
  • 2:30 pm: Driving under suspension, OVI, and major traffic offenses
  • 3:30 pm: Trial cases

Proof of Insurance

The State of Ohio requires everyone provide proof of insurance when asked by a law enforcement officer. If you did not provide proof to the officer at the time of your stop, you must bring proof to your court appearance or before you pay your fine. Fax insurance information to 614-277-1793 or call 614-277-1715 to make arrangements to mail.

Proof of insurance is required:

  • On the vehicle you were driving on the date and time you were cited. Failure to provide proof may result in your license being suspended for a minimum of 90 days.

Appeal Process

You have the right to appeal if you are found guilty to the Franklin County Municipal Court, pursuant to ORC section 1905.23. You have 10 days (including weekends) from the date of conviction to file an appeal with the Grove City Mayor's Court.
